Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Palleco, our mission is clear: to provide innovative and sustainable pallet solutions that support the efficiency and environmental goals of businesses across Australia. We strive to be more than just a supplier; we aim to be a trusted partner, helping you streamline your operations and minimise your environmental impact with eco-conscious pallet supply and removal services.
Environmental Stewardship is at the Core of The Palleco Promise
At Palleco, our sustainability commitment revolves around prioritising removing, recycling, and redistributing secondhand timber pallets. Through our efficient pallet retrieval services, we help businesses minimise waste and reduce their environmental footprint.
Repurposing
TimberWe prioritise salvaging wood from pallets that are no longer repairable. Repurposing timber from unsalvageable pallets and integrating them into our repair work, ensures efficient resource management and minimises overall timber waste. All timber that is no longer salvageable is repurposed into various products and is given a second life.
Responsibly
Sourcing MaterialsIn manufacturing new pallets, we prioritise responsible timber sourcing through accredited timber merchants. Our commitment ensures that timber is sourced ethically and sustainably, adhering to the highest industry standards.
Optimising
TransportWe prioritise the scheduling of the smallest vehicles suitable for collecting and delivering pallets whenever possible. By consciously selecting vehicle sizes we can use the vehicles full cubic capacity and therefore less trips are required as we aim to minimise our carbon footprint. Additionally, we have transitioned from paper consignments to digital methods, eliminating the need for paper and further reducing our environmental impact.

Pallet Recycling Reports and Certifications for Environmental Compliance
At Palleco, we prioritise transparency and accountability in fulfilling your Corporate Environmental Responsibilities. Upon request, we offer regular recycling reports and Palleco-issued certificates that validate the recycling of your pallets, ensuring they are responsibly managed and not sent to landfill. These certificates include detailed information on the number of pallets recycled and the total tonnage processed, enabling you to monitor your sustainability initiatives and progress effectively.
Sustainable Solutions Extending the Lifecycle of Pallets
Reduce
environmental impactPallet recycling reduces the demand for new timber, helping to conserve natural resources and protect forests.
Minimise
wasteBy recycling pallets, we can significantly reduce the amount of wood waste sent to landfills, reducing landfill congestion and greenhouse gas emissions.
Repurpose
and savePallets that cannot be reused can be repurposed into various products, including particle board, animal bedding, wood chips, mulch, furniture, and energy (heat/electricity), further extending their usefulness and reducing waste.
Join in Our Fight Against Wood Waste
Australia generates a significant amount of wood waste each year, with a substantial portion of this waste coming from pallets and crates. In Sydney alone, more than 140,000 tonnes of waste wood pallets and crates are sent to landfills annually, accounting for 50% of all wood/timber in the waste stream. This has a considerable impact on the environment, contributing to landfill congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. If the wooden pallets disposed of in Sydney were stacked on top of each other, it is estimated they would create a stack 533 kilometres high, reaching beyond the orbiting International Space Station. This staggering statistic highlights the immense volume of wood waste that is generated and the urgent need for sustainable waste management solutions.
